Job summary

Chief Industries, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Maintenance Technician for Lancaster, SC. This on-site, full-time role runs 6:00am–4:30pm and involves advanced maintenance, PLC programming, and documentation to boost productivity.

You will read blueprints, install and repair equipment, and support building repairs with a strong safety mindset. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and at least five years in industrial maintenance, with proficiency in electrical/mechanical

Qualifications

• 5 years: Previous experience in a Maintenance Mechanic or similar industrial maintenance role.
• 5 years: Ability to read and interpret both electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• 5 years: Ability to operate electrical testing/ measuring instruments.
• 5 years: 5 Years Industrial Maintenance Experience.

Responsibilities

• Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Install, modify, and maintain machinery and systems to ensure optimal performance.
• Accurately reads blueprints, schematics, micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and wiring diagrams in making repair and adjustments.
• Performs construction, plumbing, concrete, and carpentry work to support building repairs and reconstruction projects.
• Works independently or as a team with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong self-management skills.
• Accurately completes all required paperwork and enters job-related data into computer systems.
• Operates forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment to safely and efficiently transport materials as required.

Description

Responsible for advanced maintenance and repairs of facility and industrial equipment, enhancing productivity through the installation of new machinery, designing electrical systems, programming PLCs, and documenting their activities while participating in training programs to ensure skill development and safety compliance .

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Carries out responsibilities with safety and efficiency as a priority. Prioritizes the well-being of colleagues and actively contributes to the safety program by collaborating, sharing ideas, and voicing concerns. Adheres to training guidelines, policies, and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Proactively identifies and addresses potential hazards.

Qualifications

Preferred

Competent in basic computer operations, with solid math skills and the ability to write clear, detailed maintenance reports.

Welding experience is a plus, though not required.

Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and adherence to workplace safety protocols.

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to resolve equipment issues efficiently.

Proficient in mechanical systems, including pneumatics and hydraulics, along with electrical systems including PLCs and variable frequency drives.

Working knowledge of PLC's.
