Job Summary

To function as a team member within the Ski Area Building Maintenance department. Ability to make competent decisions while considering the customers and resort’s interests. Use skill-based knowledge to perform tasks professionally, focusing on efficiency and quality. Cover various departments related to repairs, upkeep, and preventative maintenance. Strong planning, communication, and execution skills are essential. Vail Resorts' core values are necessary for success in this role.

Job Specifications
  • Expected Pay Range: $22.00 - $30.00 / hour
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time
  • Skill Level: Intermediate
Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain the integrity of resort assets.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations from corporate, State, and Federal authorities.
  • Implement preventative maintenance programs for facilities and equipment.
  • Provide training to entry-level staff as required.
  • Coordinate projects with subcontractors when needed.
  • Order and maintain stock for critical equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Collaborate with other departments and managers.
  • Maintain personal hand tools safely and in working order.
  • Keep job logs updated daily.
  • Possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
  • Perform repairs including parts replacement, plumbing, drywall, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Have knowledge in appliance installation, mechanics, woodworking, and troubleshooting.
  • Be familiar with plumbing, electrical systems, controls, and kitchen equipment.
  • Follow Lock out tag out procedures, OSHA, EPA, MSDS, and PPE guidelines.
  • Plan, organize, and control tasks efficiently.
  • Attend training for specific skills.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and strong people skills, even under pressure.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience required.
  • EPA Refrigerant Certification preferred.
  • Strong background in facilities maintenance: plumbing, mechanical repairs, carpentry.
  • HVAC/boiler repair and large kitchen electrical troubleshooting preferred.
