Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a skilled Line Clearance Trimmer for the Northwestern OH region, from Findlay to Bowling Green. You’ll prune and remove trees for major electric utilities, climbing with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, and operate tools safely in all weather conditions.

Requirements include love of the outdoors, a valid driver’s license, and successful completion of Davey Tree orientations and safety courses. CDL-A/B with air brake is preferred; union details vary by location.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Air Brake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses/certificates if required by state law.
• Preferred: ISA Arborist/TCIA Tree Care credentials.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Perform pruning and removal work for major electric utilities.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged limbs; repair as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other structures.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws and lifts.
• Work as part of a crew with foreperson and ground support.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, is pleased to offer a key opportunity as an experienced Line Clearance Trimmer, CDL holder and/or climbing experience preferred, joining our team servicing the Northwestern OH region from Findlay to Bowling Green and surrounding areas.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire

• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®
