Experienced Intake / Verification Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and motivated benefit verification and authorization expert to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefit verification and authorization activities.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Experience in Home Infusion and Intrathecal Pain Management is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of patient insurance eligibility and benefits for payers like Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Humana, Worker’s Comp, Medicare, Medicaid.
• Understanding of authorization processes including GAPs, pre-determinations, PCP referrals, and single case agreements.
• Accurate data entry of insurance and authorization info into EHR systems following SOPs.
• Follow-up on pending or expired authorizations and referrals.
• Review and appeal authorization denials.
• Document all calls per SOPs.
• Respond timely to quality reviews.
• Respect patient rights and confidentiality, adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
• Knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, medical terminology, billing, and regulations.
• Share knowledge with team members and collaborate effectively.
• Maintain a positive and respectful interaction style.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
