Experienced Intake / Verification Specialist

We are seeking an Experienced Intake / Verification Specialist with at least 3 years of relevant experience for this remote opportunity.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication skills, in-depth knowledge of collection practices, and compliance with federal and state regulations related to benefit verification and authorization.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of healthcare industry experience preferred.
• Experience in Home Infusion or Intrathecal Pain Management is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Knowledge of patient insurance eligibility and benefits across various payers (Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, etc.).
• Understanding of authorization processes, including GAPs, pre-determinations, referrals, and agreements.
• Accurate data entry into EHR systems.
• Follow-up on pending or expired authorizations and referrals.
• Review and appeal authorization denials.
• Document interactions per SOPs.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Knowledge of NDC numbers, infusion supplies, and medical terminology.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
