Job summary

The Learning Experience - Columbia, SC is seeking a Lead Teacher for the Infant Classroom (6 weeks to 18 months). This full-time role runs Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM with a pay range of $16–$17 per hour based on experience.

You will nurture infants, partner with families, and guide a supportive team to foster milestones daily. Ideal candidates have infant care experience, strong communication, and availability for our operating hours.

Qualifications

• Inexperienced with infants? none; prior infant care experience preferred.
• Must have strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Availability to work 9:00 AM–6:00 PM Monday to Friday.
• ECE coursework or related education preferred.
• Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) the SC Health & Safety Certification.
• Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) First Aid/CPR certification.
• Patient, nurturing and enthusiastic approach to working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Foster a safe, clean, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Support daily care routines, including feeding and diapering.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
• Observe and document developmental milestones and classroom progress.
• Serve as a role model through professionalism, leadership and teamwork.

• Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) the free 15-hour South Carolina Health & Safety Certification before orientation
• Must obtain (or be willing to obtain) First Aid/CPR certification
• A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
