Job summary

Spiniello Companies is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our field team in Baltimore. You will operate excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and related equipment to repair and replace underground utilities.

This hands-on role requires safe, precise work and the ability to work with the Foreman and utility crew to keep projects moving. You will inspect equipment, follow safety policies, and support daily operations in busy urban sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in utility construction.
• Experience operating excavator, backhoe and skid steer.
• Knowledge of water, sanitary waste, and storm water systems.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical when applicable.
• Able to work overtime and outdoors.
• Ability to follow basic instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate backhoes, excavators, skid steer loaders with utility crews on underground repairs.
• Excavate safely in varied soil conditions.
• Navigate and operate equipment in tight urban work areas.
• Perform pre-start inspections and routine care (greasing, etc.).
• Follow OSHA requirements and Safety Policies at all times.
• Report unsafe conditions or issues to supervision.
• Coordinate with Foreman and crew to support daily operations.
• Drive rubber-tired equipment to various sites when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Crew Foreman/Leader.
