Job summary

CDM Smith Inc. is seeking a heavy equipment operator to excavate materials per construction drawings and manage stockpiles on site. The role includes backfilling, grading, and loading trucks with materials while performing routine equipment maintenance.

No degree is required, with at least 2 years of heavy equipment experience. Travel may be required depending on project needs and workload.

Qualifications

• No degree required; 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Excavates materials to dimensions as specified by construction drawings, sketches, grade markers, and verbal instructions.
• Manages stockpiles.
• Performs backfilling and grading operations to specified grades for landscaping, haul roads, and other purposes.
• Loads trucks with excavated soils or building materials such as stone, aggregate, or asphalt.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Inspects, greases, fuels, and cleans heavy equipment daily.
• Performs other maintenance per schedule.
