Job summary

MGC Contractors, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our Texas Division in the San Antonio area. The role involves operating dozers, loaders, backhoes, scrapers, and compactors to perform grading and earthwork on construction sites.

You will read blueprints and survey markers, use GPS/laser leveling, and communicate with crew members to ensure safe, efficient operations. A HS diploma and several years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3–5 years of related experience operating dozer, loader, backhoe, gannon, scraper or compactor
• 5+ years of related experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate dozer, loader, backhoe, scraper and compactor as directed.
• Grade or redistribute earth, aggregates, or materials for construction of structures.
• Use GPS and laser leveling for rough grading and elevation control.
• Fasten attachments to equipment and align depth gauge marker with stakes.
• Monitor gauges and indicators to ensure proper machine function.
• Inspect equipment for deficiencies and report on condition.
• Read and interpret blueprints, survey markers and stakes.
• Signal directions and warnings to coworkers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
