Job summary

Dragados is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel expansion project in Virginia Beach, VA. You will operate track loader, excavator and bulldozer, perform pre-inspections, and coordinate with crew to move dirt and materials.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, following instructions, and working in confined spaces and difficult terrain. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success on this site.

Qualifications

• 3+ years operating heavy equipment on construction sites.
• Experience with excavator attachments (hammer, sheave, grapple).
• Ability to work in tight spaces and varied terrain.

Responsibilities

• Take actions to avoid hazards and obstructions.
• Operate equipment in confined areas between structures.
• Operate in difficult terrain (loose soil, slopes).
• Perform pre-inspection of equipment and surroundings.
• Be aware of underground services before starting work.
• Monitor operations to ensure safety standards are met.
• Load and move dirt and materials with heavy equipment.
• Follow safety regulations and company procedures.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Coordinate machine actions with crew using signals.
• Service machine as required by manufacturer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
