Job summary

Modern Machinery is seeking a full-time, journey-level Heavy Equipment Field Service Technician in Alabama. You will repair and maintain heavy equipment in the field, troubleshoot systems, and diagnose issues on Komatsu lines and affiliated product lines.

The role requires 3–5 years of field experience, valid CDL, ability to travel, and strong computer skills. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401k with match, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to stand for long periods, climb ladders, and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Requires a valid CDL and ability to maintain an insurable driving record.
• DOT E-Logs experience and hours-of-service compliance.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, A/C, and power-train systems on Komatsu and related lines.
• Operate equipment to locate and diagnose failures and perform tests and tuning.
• Read hydraulic and electrical schematics and determine corrective actions.
• Communicate clearly with customers and parts to order required items.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and complete documentation daily.
