Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Alarm Install Technician to independently perform core installation tasks for fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with codes and company quality standards. The role includes site travel, documentation, and mentoring entry-level technicians.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, and a strong understanding of installation practices and codes, with NICET Level I+ preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in the fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on standard installation jobs.
• Strong understanding of fire alarm systems, installation practices, and applicable codes.
• NICET Level I or above preferred.
• Must have a clean driving record and active driver’s license (if driving is required).

Responsibilities

• Independently install fire alarm systems in accordance with plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
• Complete standard installation projects without direct supervision.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Perform system testing and basic troubleshooting.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete installations.
• Coordinate with team members, contractors, and project stakeholders as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.
• Travel to job sites as required.
