Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Construction Inspector for WVDOH projects in North Central West Virginia. The role involves providing inspection services, performing measurements, and documenting progress with daily reports.

Travel across the state and occasional overnight stays are required, with extended hours possible. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management (or related field) with relevant experience, or substantial equivalent

Qualifications

• At least four applicable WVDOH certifications.
• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field AND four (4) years relevant experience.
• Associate's Degree in Construction Management or related field AND six (6) years relevant experience.
• If no degree, at least eight (8) years of relevant experience.
• Ideal candidates will have WVDOH construction inspection and materials testing certifications.
• Working knowledge of WVDOH standards, specifications, and material testing procedures.
• Working knowledge of AASHTOWare Project.

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects in compliance with proposal, plans, and specifications.
• Perform required calculations, take measurements, and verify weights and volumes as needed.
• Plot cross sections and prepare
• as builds
• during progress of the project.
• Document inspected work daily and conduct materials testing.
• Travel to construction sites throughout West Virginia; valid driver's license required.
• Work may involve heavy lifting, outdoor conditions, and independent work.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or related field

Associate's Degree in Construction Management or related field

Eight years of relevant experience (no degree)
