Job summary

Astec is seeking a skilled welder to join our manufacturing team in a heavy equipment environment. You will read blueprints, set up welding operations, and perform MIG, flux-core, and stick welds on large components.

Responsibilities include ensuring weld quality, following safety rules, and maintaining equipment. This role requires 5+ years of experience and the ability to Weld vertical, flat, and overhead positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience with heavy equipment production line welding.
• Must read and understand weld symbols.
• Able to MIG weld, stick weld, and arc gouging safely.
• Must read blueprints and understand welding specifications.

Responsibilities

• Layout plant equipment for welding to ensure proper welds.
• Safely MIG and flux core weld and pass tests.
• Perform gang-welding safely and efficiently.
• Weld vertical, flat, and overhead positions.
• Inspect welds for quality and perform grinding when needed.
• Maintain welding machines and PPE compliance.
• Read weld symbols, select rods/wires, and ensure correct setup.
