Job summary

Astec is seeking a Welder/Fabricator in Wisconsin to join our production team. You will weld metal components to fit and join large mechanical products, read blueprints, and inspect metal for clean welds in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 0–1 year of welding experience; MIG and stick welding, grinding, and safe crane/forklift operation are part of daily duties. Safety and quality are emphasized throughout.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 0–1 year welding experience preferred.
  • Read weld symbols and blueprints.
  • Heavy equipment manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Safe operation of grinders and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform grinding and weld tests as needed.
  • Safely weld vertical, flat, and overhead with MIG and stick.
  • Read weld symbols and inspect metal prior to welding.
  • Keep work area clean and maintain equipment.
  • Coordinate with fitters on assembly and scheduling.
