Job summary

ASTEC is seeking a Welder to join our production team. Under supervision, you will weld metal components using MIG and stick processes, read blueprints, inspect materials, and perform grinding to achieve clean, presentable welds.

You will collaborate with fitters to assemble heavy equipment and maintain safety standards on the shop floor. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 0–1 year welding experience; heavy equipment manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-1 year of welding experience preferred.
• Read and understand weld symbols.
• Knowledge of grinding and inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal components to fit and join per specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints before starting projects.
• Inspect metal prior to welding for quality and cleanliness.
• Perform grinding operations to meet Astec standards.
• Coordinate with fitters for proper assembly of equipment.
