Job summary

OU Health is seeking an experienced RN for the Adult Emergency Department. The role involves night shifts and PRN coverage, delivering high-quality care to adults with varied medical needs.

The RN will document responses to interventions, assist physicians, monitor physiological data, and administer medications while maintaining safety and compliance with policies. A patient-centered approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in patient care as a Registered Nurse.
• License/Certification/Registration: Current Registered Nurse License (RN) license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN (eNLC)).
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments, noting changes in physician orders.
• Assists physician in examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
• Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients and intervenes when necessary.
• Administers medication as prescribed.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Informs patient and family of procedures and shares care plan during care and at discharge.
