Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Experienced RN for the Pediatric Emergency Department to provide high-quality care during nights. The RN I role supports patients from admission through discharge, collaborates with physicians, and adheres to OU Health values.

Strong documentation, critical thinking, and patient communication are essential for clinical excellence. The role requires an RN license in Oklahoma, BLS certification, and a degree in nursing.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: 0-3 years of patient care as an RN.
• License/Certification/Registration: RN license (OK) and BLS.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Ability to document patient responses and collaborate with physicians.

Responsibilities

• Aligns behaviors with OU Health values and nursing standards.
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned patient or group of patients.
• Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and physician orders.
• Assists physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures.
• Monitors patients' physiological data and intervenes when needed.
• Administers medications as prescribed.
• Initiates and monitors IV infusions and blood products.
• Delivers patient care safely and competently.
• Resolves patient complaints in collaboration with staff.
• Informs patients and families about procedures and care plans.
• Fosters professional development and maintains licensure.
