Twin Towing in Belleville, New Jersey is seeking a seasoned Diesel Mechanic to maintain our diverse fleet of light and heavy‑duty tow trucks, tractors, and trailers. This full‑time role rewards hands‑on technicians who take pride in workmanship and safety, with opportunities to work on a range of equipment and systems.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, including lighting and wiring, welding and fabrication, and use computer diagnostic tools to interpret error

Qualifications

Twin Towing is seeking a seasoned Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team, focusing on maintaining our diverse fleet, including light and heavy-duty tow trucks, tractors, trailers, and various other types of heavy equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance (PM) work and keep accurate records of routine maintenance to ensure operational efficiency.


• Conduct diagnostics, identify malfunctions, and undertake necessary repairs with precision.


• Efficiently replace and repair truck and trailer lighting systems and wiring, ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.


• Welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment.


• Utilize understanding of computer diagnostics to interpret and address error codes and system alerts.


• Collaborate with other members of the maintenance team to efficiently complete tasks.

Skills and Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, with a comprehensive understanding of both light and heavy-duty vehicles and heavy equipment.


• Must possess personal set of tools suitable for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks.


• Proficiency in welding and fabrication, with a knack for precision and safety.


• Strong competency in using diagnostic software and interpreting computer-generated error codes.


• Ability to perform physical tasks and lift objects as required by the job.
