Position Summary

Under general supervision, the Operator performs a variety of skilled tasks involved in the operations processes; strong understanding of equipment and performs related work as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture
  • Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Full understanding of how to run multiple machines in entirety for operations
  • Responsible for the review of work orders
  • Maintain production and quality standards by measuring and verifying before during and after processing on multiple machines
  • Adjust machine setup to correct defects as needed throughout process on multiple machines.
  • Communicate non‑compliance production to supervisor and/or shift lead
  • Complete production documentation
  • Assist maintenance to troubleshoot malfunctions or complete preventative maintenance as necessary
  • Remove scrap from machine and empty hopper as needed
  • Clean machine and surrounding area
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
  • Ability to perform complete set‑up and operational tasks of slitting to ensure compliance with customer specifications and production requirements
  • Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
  • Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
  • Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
  • Able to write simple correspondence in English
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • Industry knowledge and experience, a plus
