Job summary

Anderson International Corp seeks an experienced machinist to set up and operate conventional and CNC machines, ensuring parts meet blueprints and tolerances. You will measure with micrometers, adjust speeds and feeds, and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with engineering and production teams. Safety, accuracy, and maintenance are key.

The role requires 5+ years in manufacturing, the ability to lift 50 lbs regularly, and experience with stainless and tool steel alloys is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to edit CNC programs.
• Ability to follow simple written and verbal instructions.
• Good understanding of blueprint reading for machining diameters and tolerances.
• Must machine parts to specified tolerances using micrometers and depth micrometers.
• Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs regularly.
• Able to work in narrow spaces and in varying positions.
• Experience with stainless and tool steel alloys preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates conventional and special purpose machines to fabricate metallic parts.
• Applies shop theory, mathematics, and layout techniques.
• Reads blueprints and specifications to determine tolerances and set up requirements.
• Measures and marks dimensions for guidance in machining.
• Selects and secures fixtures, tools, and attachments on machines.
• Controls machining speed, feed, coolant, and cut depth.
• Monitors operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance work and adjusts as needed.
• Verifies dimensions with gauges and measuring tools.
• Maintains safe operations by following procedures and regulations.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
