The Davey Tree Expert Company in Omaha, NE is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Trainee to join our field team. This on-site role emphasizes climbing trees, pruning, removal, and safety-focused care as part of a supportive crew.

You will learn Davey’s climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS), gain hands-on experience with cables, bracing and protection, and grow toward advanced arborist responsibilities with competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Outdoor lover and able to work at heights.
• Completion of Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Completion of Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses/certifications as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Operate as active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Prune, thinning and remove deadwood; install cables, bracing and lightning protection.

Position Overview

Pay Range: $25.00-35.00/Hourly

Trim and remove trees, remove unwanted, diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areas by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
