Job summary

Fountain Development LLC in Western North Carolina is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to pursue and estimate site-development projects. This role focuses on grading, earthwork, storm drainage, utilities, paving, and other sitework.

The ideal candidate will interpret plans and bid documents, understand how labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs come together to produce competitive, accurate estimates, and maintain strong relationships with contractors and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil/sitework estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of grading, earthwork, utilities, drainage, sewer and water.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specs, and bid documents.
• Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.

Responsibilities

• Review civil plans, specs, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimating requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, drainage, paving, and sitework.
• Develop material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities during estimating.
• Work closely with project managers to develop realistic production estimates.
• Maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Track upcoming projects and pursue new work opportunities.
• Maintain organized estimating documentation.
