Job summary

Fountain Development LLC is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to pursue and estimate site-development projects across Western North Carolina. You will focus on estimating grading, earthwork, storm drainage, sewer, water, utilities, paving, and other sitework.

The ideal candidate reads plans and bid documents and understands labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop competitive, realistic project estimates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years civil/sitework estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to read civil plans, specifications, and bid documents.
• Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools preferred.
• Strong knowledge of grading, earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, sewer and water installation.

Responsibilities

• Review civil plans, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and estimating requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, storm drainage, paving, and other sitework.
• Develop accurate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities during the estimating process.
• Work closely with project managers and operations to develop realistic production estimates.
• Maintain relationships with general contractors, developers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Track upcoming projects and actively pursue new work opportunities.
• Maintain organized and accurate estimating documentation.

Your Role
