Job summary

Fountain Development LLC in North Carolina is seeking a Civil Estimator to pursue and estimate site-development projects throughout Western North Carolina. This role focuses on estimating grading, earthwork, storm drainage, sewer, water, utilities, paving, and other sitework with an emphasis on competitive, realistic bids.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of civil/sitework estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans, specs and bid documents.
• Experience with estimating software and digital takeoff tools.

Responsibilities

• Review civil plans, specs and bid documents to determine scope.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for earthwork, utilities, drainage, paving.
• Develop accurate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare pricing from subs and suppliers.
• Prepare competitive bids and proposals.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and opportunities during estimating.
• Work with project managers to develop realistic production estimates.
• Maintain relationships with contractors, developers, engineers, suppliers, and subs.
• Track upcoming projects and pursue new work opportunities.
• Maintain organized estimating documentation.
