Job summary

SB&O Inc is seeking an Experienced Civil Engineer to lead project teams, manage client relationships, and oversee civil engineering projects in land development and infrastructure. This role involves directing project efforts, supervising staff, and contributing to company operations, policy development, and marketing efforts.

You will lead land development projects from concept through construction, review grading and drainage plans, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and regulators

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• CA PE license preferred (or ability to obtain within 12 months).
• 5+ years in land development or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and stormwater modeling software.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• California driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead land development projects from concept through construction.

General Position Description

SB&O is seeking an Experienced Civil Engineer to lead project teams, manage client relationships, and oversee civil engineering projects in land development and infrastructure. This position involves directing project efforts, supervising staff, and contributing to company operations, policy development, and marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Engineering Leadership

• Lead land development projects from concept through construction, ensuring compliance with regulations and client requirements.
• Develop and review grading, drainage, and utility plans, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards.
• [OPTIONAL] - Oversee stormwater management design, hydrology studies, and erosion control plans.

Team & Client Coordination

• Mentor junior engineers, designers, and CAD technicians.
• Collaborate with surveyors, architects, planners, and contractors to ensure seamless project execution.
• Communicate with clients, city agencies, and regulatory bodies to obtain permits and approvals.
• Lead client meetings and presentations, acting as the primary point of contact for engineering-related matters.

Technical Expertise & Innovation

• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software for design and analysis.
• Apply expertise in hydrology, grading, earthwork calculations, and utility infrastructure.
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, codes, and regulations affecting land development in California.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency in project execution.
