Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer for the Civil Design Division in San Diego. The role requires a CA PE license and 15+ years in civil engineering, with leadership of multi-disciplinary teams on public and private land development projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• California Professional Engineer license is required.
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience (or 18 total years in industry).
• 5+ years of management experience supervising technical teams.
• Strong experience in land development, public works, and infrastructure design.
• Local experience in San Diego County and California jurisdictions preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Ability to manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Active participation in professional/community organizations encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Lead/manage the planning, design, and execution of private and public infrastructure and land development projects.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, contracts, and technical staff, ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality work.
• Prepare and review civil engineering designs, bid documents, regulatory plans, and construction support materials.
• Engage directly with clients, public agencies, and stakeholders to foster strong, long-term relationships.
• Contribute to business development through proposal writing, fee estimates, and client presentations.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers while promoting a collaborative and supportive team culture.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring

• 5+ years of management experience, including supervision of technical teams.
• Strong background in land development, public works, and infrastructure design.
• Local experience in San Diego County and California jurisdictions strongly preferred.
• Expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships, budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables.
• Active participation in professional and community organizations is encouraged.
