Job summary

SLO Civil Design, LLC is seeking a Civil Engineer with 2–4 years of land development experience for a full-time, on-site role in San Luis Obispo, CA. You’ll prepare plans in Civil 3D/AutoCAD, coordinate with agencies, and grow toward project management while mentored by senior staff.

You should hold a B.S. in Civil Engineering, be EIT-certified or in process, and thrive in a collaborative, client-facing environment with hands-on project work in the Central Coast region.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
• 2–4 years of land development engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD drafting.
• EIT certification.
• Strong communication and collaborative work style.
• Genuine drive to keep growing technically.

Responsibilities

• Prepare civil engineering plans in Civil 3D and AutoCAD to company standards.
• Lead design and engineering calculations with senior staff oversight.
• Produce grading, site improvement/development, water, sewer and storm drain plans.
• Coordinate across disciplines on public and private California projects.
• Transition to Project Management within 18–24 months, guiding junior engineers.

Work directly with the owner/principal engineer and some of the most accomplished architectural firms on the Central Coast. You'll manage your own projects including custom residential homes, commercial developments, public improvement plans, feasibility studies, and more with the support of our team.

We aren't like most big firms. Our ideal candidate is not someone who enjoys monotony, or staying inside a cubicle all day. You'll be talking with clients, visiting sites as needed, preparing plans, and working with agencies to obtain project approval on a regular basis. We want candidates interested in rapid growth, being hands‑on, and who are interested in the land development industry.

Your role

Base Salary: 75,000-95,000 | Compensation will be based on experience.
