Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, GA office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Surface Water team.

You will work on surface water studies, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, analysis and design, flood studies, resiliency and green infrastructure planning, with on-the-job training and mentorship.

This is a full-time, on-site position offering professional development and exposure to plan production and client interactions.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of surface water modeling and/or design experience
• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree (B.S./M.S.)
• Engineer-In-Training or equivalent certification within 12 months
• Experience with HEC-HMS/HEC-RAS/SWMM and ArcGIS

Responsibilities

• Contribute to surface water studies and design tasks
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
• Support flood studies, resiliency assessments, and green infrastructure planning

Overview

Kimley-Horn's Atlanta, Georgia (GA) office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with 2+ years of experience to join their Surface Water team.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate can expect to work in a dynamic team environment on a range of projects including:
  • Surface water management studies
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Analysis and design
  • Flood studies, resiliency and vulnerability assessments
  • Green infrastructure planning and design
• As a critical member of the team, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks and will receive both on-the-job and formal training as well as mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with surface water modeling and/or design
• Bachelors or Masters from an ABET accredited university in the field of Civil Engineering
• "Engineer-In-Training" or "Engineering Intern" certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
• Experience building and calibrating Hydraulic/Hydrology models such as ICPR4, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), and SWMM
• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (AutoCAD Civil 3D or Microstation a plus)
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
• Detail-oriented with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Water quality modeling experience desired but not required (WASP, RIV1, HSPF, EFDC)
• This is not a remote position.
