Job Description

• Experience Required: Completion of relevant skills assessment; 6 to 12 months experience or successful completion of the Giant Eagle Apprenticeship program
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Fill display tables and cases with cakes, transporting products from prep to sales areas.
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Handle special orders via phone and in person.
• Ensure product quality by checking dates and condition in the sales area.
• Record daily known losses.
• Prioritize safety for team members, guests, and products in all tasks.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Inspire colleagues and guests with passion for food and a commitment to excellence.
• Handle products and equipment safely, following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and work areas to meet sanitation standards.
• Prepare and decorate cakes and products, ensuring freshness and proper dating.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and housekeeping procedures.
• Accurately record special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain department procedures, product rotation, and knowledge of new products and techniques.
• Ice and decorate cakes using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Prepare icing and decorating materials according to recipes.
• Assist with backroom, cooler, and freezer organization and deliveries.
• Operate department equipment safely, including mixers, scales, and decorating tools.
• Support other areas as needed.
