Key responsibilities include training in all aspects of the Bakery Department, including clerk and baker functions, with a focus on cake decorating for those with minimal or no retail decorating experience. Job Description

• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures, including product information by category, special orders, cake programs, portion control, seasonal items, and color mixing.
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks to protect team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, helping them find products, answering questions, and making suggestions.
• Familiarize yourself with store products to assist customers effectively.
• Handle products and equipment following food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Prepare and decorate bakery products for cases and displays, ensuring freshness and proper rotation.
• Offer sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Keep equipment, work surfaces, and the department clean and sanitized.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom and freezer organization.
• Follow department procedures, including product rotation, order taking, and safety standards.
• Support other areas of the bakery as needed.
