Your main duties include training in all aspects of the Bakery Department, including Clerk and Baker functions, with a focus on cake decorating for those with minimal or no retail decorating experience. Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn product knowledge and procedures, including product information by category, special orders, cake program, portion control, seasonal items, and color mixing.
• Follow proper procedures to meet store out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Apply merchandising principles to generate sales and impress guests.
• Prioritize safety in all tasks to protect team members, guests, and products.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, helping them locate products, and answering questions with suggestions.
• Familiarize yourself with store products to assist customers effectively.
• Handle products and equipment safely, adhering to food safety and safety guidelines.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Prepare and decorate bakery products, rotate stock, and ensure freshness and proper dating.
• Offer sampling opportunities when appropriate.
• Record special orders accurately to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, work areas, and storage to meet sanitation standards.
• Assist in unloading deliveries and maintaining backroom efficiency.
• Follow department procedures, including setup, order taking, and product rotation.
• Assist in other areas as needed.
