Opened on April 15th, 1936, Peters' Bakery is the oldest family-owned bakery in Silicon Valley. Over the years, the bakery has trained more than 100 bakers, many of whom went on to establish their own bakeries, as well as having a phenomenal retention rate for employees.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Perform all duties related to decorating and maintain general excellence of Peters' Bakery.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Practice safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Decorate cakes, cupcakes, and other baked goods.
• Assist the Bakery Manager as needed.
• Complete 10-12 cakes per hour with simple color and decorations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand for long periods of time; walk; frequent use of hands.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

JOB TYPE:

Part Time to Permanent

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS:

• 1 year of Cake Decorating (ability to make flowers and decorative borders; knowledge of elegant piping techniques and color theory).
• Excellent script and print lettering skills.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Availability requirements include; but are not limited to; days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
