Responsibilities

1. Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests.
2. Prepare products for sale (icing, decorating, pricing, packaging, and labeling).
3. Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
4. Perform bakery clerk functions as requested.
5. Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
6. Properly clean work areas, couplers, and decorating bags.
7. Organize the freezer, including proper rotation of products according to variety.
8. Communicate guest requests to management.
9. Report temperature breakdowns to supervisors.
10. Keep supply areas neat, clean, and tidy at all times.
11. Properly rotate icings (including reading expiration dates) and scrape down buckets.
12. Use cake manuals as reference materials.
13. Write on cakes.
14. Mix colors according to the color chart.
15. Master the use of the airbrush.
16. Use the cake production sheet.
17. Achieve budgeted sales, minimize shrink, and maximize profits for the bakery’s cake section.
18. Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
19. Perform Front Porch duties to maintain guest arrival standards.
20. Announce specials and sales using the PA system.
21. Assist in product receiving and storage.

Qualifications

1. Friendly, outgoing personality.
2. Ability to work well with others.
3. Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
4. Ability to read and understand information and directions.
5. Effective communication, guest service, and selling skills.
6. Must be at least 18 years old.
7. Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
