Job summary

H&R Block is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to deliver accurate bookkeeping, payroll and client service, helping us inspire communities everywhere.

You’ll post financial transactions, reconcile accounts, generate statements, and process payroll, while communicating with clients, suppliers and banking contacts.

This office operates within a franchise network; training and certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association may be required, and competitive pay plus benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• National bookkeeping and payroll certifications from the National Bookkeeping Association, or ability to obtain certifications.
• 1-3 years of bookkeeping experience.
• Knowledge of bookkeeping practices and generally accepted accounting principles & procedures.
• Ability to correctly interpret and apply complete instructions, policies and regulations.
• Ability to treat confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Analytical skills and an eye for details.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Post financial transactions into subsidiary books and general ledgers.
• Reconcile and balance accounts.
• Generate and analyze financial statements.
• Prepare and process payroll.
• Generate 1099s and W2s and calculate and prepare tax statements.
• Communicate with clients, client suppliers, vendors and banking contacts.
• Assist in client retention and client growth opportunities.
