The Certified Automotive Technician performs vehicle repair and maintenance as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards and builds customer loyalty by developing trust and ensuring confidence in AutoNation as a care-giver for their vehicle's safety and reliability.

This compensation range for this position is $26.50 to $52.75 per flat rate hour which is a combination of hourly and bonus pay.

Who Would I Interact With?

This position interacts daily with customers, service advisors, other technicians, parts associates, cashiers, sales associates, and managers.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?

• Perform vehicle repairs and maintenance as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately, in accordance with dealership and factory standards to drive customer loyalty.
• Communicate regularly with parts department and service advisors to manage production and customer communication effectively.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs if authorized by the customer.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and make appropriate recommendations to ensure safety and reliability of vehicles.
• Document work performed on each vehicle on the repair order.
• Maintain an inventory of normal technician’s tools not normally inventoried by the service department as "special tools."
• Stay updated on factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training classes as appropriate.
• Provide an exceptional customer experience to foster loyalty.

What are the requirements for this job?

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years experience as an automotive technician
• Automotive technical training (varies based on store needs)
• Attention to detail
• Organization and follow-up skills
• Valid in-state driver’s license and a safe driving record
