Summary/Objective

An Automotive Technician performs repair work and maintenance for cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

1. Conduct vehicle inspections to identify mechanical, electrical, maintenance, or safety issues.
2. Complete repairs and maintenance efficiently, including engine, brake, suspension repairs, and more.
3. Use diagnostic equipment, manuals, and computerized systems to troubleshoot automotive problems.
4. Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, fluid flushes, and filter replacements.
5. Ensure all work meets manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
6. Perform quality checks and test drives to verify repairs.
7. Report safety concerns or issues beyond scheduled work to management.
8. Complete test drives following company policies and safety practices.
9. Maintain accurate inspection records per company procedures.
10. Communicate effectively with customers regarding repairs, estimates, and questions.
11. Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism.
12. Collaborate with management and team members to ensure efficient service.
13. Mentor junior technicians and apprentices as needed.
14. Follow workplace safety requirements and promote safety practices.
15. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
16. Stay current on industry trends, technology, and regulations.
17. Assist management in developing and executing business initiatives.
18. Support a positive team culture and exceed business goals.
19. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technical training preferred.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• Industry knowledge and experience required.
• ASE or relevant certifications preferred.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• Clean driving record and successful MVR check.

Physical Demands

Position Details

Full-time, minimum 32 hours/week. Work hours vary; may include weekends and long hours.

Travel

Up to 25% local travel; less than 5% overnight travel. Reimbursements may apply.
