Job description

Bellingham, WA | Audi | Volkswagen | European brand | Flat-rate | HV certified | ASE certified | Veterans encouraged to apply | $27 - $50/hr flat rate

Swickard Auto Group is a hospitality company that happens to sell and service cars. We believe the best guest experiences start with the best employee experiences. That's why we've grown to 40+ rooftops across the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii while maintaining a culture built on one simple idea: do right by people, every time.

At Audi Volkswagen of Bellingham, we represent two of the most respected European automotive brands under one roof. Our guests are passionate about their vehicles and trust us to care for them. That trust is built by technicians who bring the right skills, the right tools, and the right standard to their bay every day.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Diagnose and repair Audi and Volkswagen vehicles across a full range of systems -- engine, transmission, brakes, electrical, suspension, HVAC, and high-voltage EV/hybrid systems -- using VW Group diagnostic platforms and OEM procedures
• Perform multi-point inspections and develop accurate repair plans -- communicating findings clearly to service advisors to support guest authorization
• Execute repairs to Audi and VW manufacturer specifications with speed, accuracy, and zero shortcuts
• Complete repair orders accurately -- documenting all work performed, parts used, and labor with precision
• Stay current on Audi and VW technical service bulletins, software updates, and evolving repair procedures
• Perform test drives to validate diagnostic conclusions and confirm repair quality before vehicle return
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation throughout every shift
• Contribute to a shop culture where quality, accountability, and craftsmanship are the baseline

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Audi or Volkswagen factory certification preferred -- candidates actively pursuing certification are encouraged to apply
• High-voltage (HV) knowledge or certification preferred -- EV and hybrid platform experience is increasingly valuable as the VW Group lineup continues to grow
• Strong diagnostic foundation -- comfortable working through complex, multi-system problems on European platforms
• ODIS, VCDS, or equivalent VW Group diagnostic tool experience strongly preferred
• ASE certifications a strong plus
• Technicians must provide their own personal toolbox and hand tools -- specialty and special service tools are provided by the dealership
• Low comeback rate and a personal standard for quality that doesn't require managing
• Physically capable of performing the demands of the role -- lifting, bending, and standing throughout the shift
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

WHAT WE OFFER

• $27 - $50/hr flat rate -- rate based on experience, certifications, and diagnostic capability
• Progressive pay plan -- Audi and VW factory certifications and tenure increase your rate over time
• Paid Audi and Volkswagen manufacturer training and certification support
• Specialty and special service tools provided -- bring your own personal toolbox and hand tools
• Medical, dental, and vision insurance
• Life insurance and supplemental coverage options
• Paid time off and paid holidays
• Modern facility with current VW Group diagnostic tools and technology
• Clear career path -- strong technicians grow into senior tech, shop foreman, and service management roles at Swickard
• Employee vehicle purchase and service discounts

WHY AUDI VOLKSWAGEN OF BELLINGHAM

• Two strong European brands under one roof -- the technical depth you build across Audi and VW platforms is broad, specialized, and genuinely valuable in the market
• High-voltage and EV experience is increasingly important as both brands expand their electric lineups -- this is a shop where that expertise will grow
• Bellingham is a growing city in the Pacific Northwest with a loyal, community-oriented guest base and consistent service volume
• Swickard is one of the fastest-growing dealer groups in the country -- ranked Top 5 in North America for reputation in the automotive industry
• Our HEART values -- Honor, Engage, Anticipate, Respond, Thank -- shape how we treat our team just as much as our guests
• Leadership that invests in your certifications, your development, and your long-term career growth

Audi Volkswagen of Bellingham offers a skilled flat-rate technician the combination of two technically demanding European brands, a growing EV and hybrid platform, and a management team that invests in the people who bring their best. Your personal tools are your foundation -- we'll supply everything else and develop your certifications from there.

If you're a technically sharp technician with European brand experience and a drive to grow your craft -- we'd like to meet you.
