Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking an Experienced Accountant in La Vista, Nebraska. The role offers a base salary between $80,000 and $90,000 depending on experience. You will manage the month-end process, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in a Big 4 or large public company and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. The work model includes 4 days on-site and 1 day remote.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a Big 4 or large public company.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification or progress towards CPA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities including journal entries.
• Analyze financial statements and communicate key insights to leadership.
• Maintain compliance with U.S. GAAP in financial reporting.
• Support audit processes and ensure accuracy of financial records.
• Collaborate with teams to enhance accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and delivering accurate financial results.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement activity, investigate variances, and communicate key financial insights to leadership.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial reporting complies with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
• Coordinate internal and external audit support by preparing documentation, responding to requests, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and support business initiatives through operational enhancements.
