Job summary

Vaco Recruiter Services is seeking an Experienced Accountant in Phoenix, AZ with a hybrid schedule. This role involves leadership in the month-end close process, financial reporting, as well as collaboration with business leadership for strategic initiatives and process improvements.

Ideal candidates will possess a bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance along with 1-2+ years at a Top 10 Accounting Firm or large public company. The position offers a base salary of $80,000-$90,000 and includes participation in benefits and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Qualifications

• 1-2+ years of experience with Top 10 Accounting Firm or Large Public Company.
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close process including financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Prepare and review journal entries ensuring accuracy and integrity.
• Coordinate external audits and strengthen internal controls.
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements.
• Partner with business leaders on financial analysis and M&A initiatives.

Responsibilities include

• Lead the month-end close process, including financial reporting, reconciliations, variance analysis, and control oversight.
• Prepare and review journal entries while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial results.
• Coordinate external audits and strengthen internal controls to support compliance and reporting quality.
• Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements to increase operational efficiency.
• Partner with business leaders on financial analysis, M&A initiatives, and cross-functional projects while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• 1-2+ years of Top 10 Accounting Firm or Large Public Company Experience (Required)
• CPA or progress toward CPA (Preferred)
• Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (Required)
