Job summary

Transport Refrigeration, Inc. (TRI) in Oak Creek, WI is seeking experienced Reefer and Diesel Technicians to diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units and related systems on the 1st shift.

The role offers paid training, Thermo King certi‑tech development, and opportunities for career advancement within a growing Thermo King dealership. You will work on diesel engines, electrical and HVAC systems, APUs, and related components, with on‑the‑job coaching and access to industry

Qualifications

• Several years of professional technician experience preferred.
• Experience as Reefer, Diesel, Trailer, or Heavy‑Duty Technician.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver's license required.
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain technician tools.
• Safety-focused and dependable.
• Willingness to work overtime when needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units.
• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot diesel engines, electrical systems, and refrigeration systems.
• Service and repair APUs and diesel-powered heaters.
• Diagnose and repair truck cab A/C and HVAC systems.
• Perform electrical troubleshooting and component replacement.
• Respond to road service calls and participate in on-call rotation after training.
• Use OEM diagnostic software, test equipment, and shop tools.
• Complete repairs within standard repair times while maintaining safety and quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional service environment.

Transport Refrigeration, Inc. (TRI), your local Thermo King dealer in Oak Creek, WI, is looking for experienced Reefer Technicians / Transport Refrigeration Technicians to join our growing team.

We're also interested in experienced Diesel Technicians, Diesel Mechanics, Trailer Technicians, and Heavy-Duty Technicians who have strong mechanical and diagnostic skills and want to develop their expertise in transport refrigeration.

If you've spent several years working in the diesel, trailer, automotive, HVAC, or heavy‑duty equipment industry, TRI will provide the Thermo King training and hands‑on experience you need to become a skilled transport refrigeration technician.

Pay & Benefits

• $55,000–$100,000/year, based on experience

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units
• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs

Experienced Diesel Technicians – We'll Train You in Refrigeration

You don't need years of refrigeration experience to join TRI.

If you already have a strong background as a Diesel Technician, Diesel Mechanic, Trailer Technician, Heavy-Duty Technician, HVAC Technician, or Automotive Technician, we'll provide training to help you develop specialized transport refrigeration and Thermo King skills.

What We're Looking For

• Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, HVAC, trailers, or heavy‑Duty equipment
• Refrigeration experience is preferred but not required for experienced diesel/heavy‑Duty technicians
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent technical experience
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain required technician tools/toolbox
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Professional, dependable, and safety‑focused
• Driven to continue developing technical skills and certifications
• Willingness to work overtime when needed
