Transport Refrigeration, Inc. in Madison, WI is seeking a Diesel Technician / Reefer Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units and related systems. This role offers first-shift hours, strong on-the-job training, and a path to Thermo King Certi-Tech certification.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, with diesel/ HVAC experience and EPA 608/609 certifications preferred. Valid driver’s license required; OT may be needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical school preferred.
• Experience in diesel, automotive, HVAC, refrigeration or mechanical repair desired.
• EPA 608 & 609 certifications preferred.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units.
• Service and repair APUs and diesel-powered heaters.
• Diagnose and repair truck cab A/C and HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
• Complete repairs within standard repair times while maintaining quality and safety.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop.

Job Location: MADISON OFFICE - MADISON, WI 53704, Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $100,000.00, Job Shift: 1st Shift, Diesel Technician / Reefer Technician – Madison, WI.

• $55,000 - $100,000/year, based on experience
• Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 1st Shift

What You'll Do

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain transport refrigeration units
• Service and repair APUs and diesel-powered heaters
• Diagnose and repair truck cab A/C and HVAC systems
• Perform preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
• Perform road service calls and participate in an on-call rotation after training
• Use diagnostic equipment, shop tools, hoists, and other service equipment
• Complete repairs within standard repair times while maintaining quality and safety
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED; technical school preferred
• Previous experience in diesel, automotive, HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical repair
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to obtain and maintain required tools/toolbox
• Proficient mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work overtime when needed
• Driven to learn and develop new technical skills
• Ability to obtain required industry certifications, including:
• Thermo King Certi-Tech
• EPA 608 & 609
