Job summary

PetSmart is seeking an Assistant Store Manager Customer Experience to lead the pet-parent journey and store team in New Jersey. You will drive exceptional service, supervise daily operations, and ensure safety and satisfaction for pets and guests.

You will collaborate with partners to meet sales goals, manage staffing, and uphold company standards while fostering a culture of teamwork and growth for a 50,000+ associate-strong organization.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of retail leadership or experience in a customer-focused environment.
• Full time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead recruitment, interviewing, coaching, and employee development.
• Guide associate experience and development, including reviews and training.
• Address associate concerns and ensure adherence to policies and safety standards.
• Prioritize tasks and delegate duties to meet business and pet parent needs.
• Coach teams on proper processes to keep pets safe and healthy.
• Oversee staffing for experience activities and store events.
• Ensure clear communication of priorities and timely task execution.
• Collaborate with store leadership on customer experience and outcomes.
• Monitor store operations to improve guest experiences and service quality.
• Assist with store opening/closing procedures and maintain brand standards.
