Job summary

Comfort Keepers in the United States is seeking a skilled and reliable Caregiver to provide in-home support with mobility assistance, transfers, and personal care. You will follow a Plan of Care, assist with daily living activities, and ensure a safe home environment while delivering compassionate companionship.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience in senior care/caregiving (agency, facility, or private).
  • Ability to use transfer equipment safely (gait belts, sit-to-stand, Hoyer lifts).
  • Dementia or personal care experience is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
  • Physical ability to assist with client weight, lift at least 25 lbs, and handle 12-hour shifts.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; safety-focused and punctual.
  • CNA license preferred but not required.
  • Pet-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

Job description

Comfort Keepers is looking for a skilled, confident, and reliable Caregiver to deliver exceptional in-home support. If you excel at mobility support, hands-on transfers, and personal care, we would love to have you on our team.

Core Responsibilities
  • Mobility & Transfers: Provide stand-by ambulation support, safely manage client weight during transfers, and utilize gait belts and sit-to-stand devices as needed.
  • Daily Living Support: Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation/eating.
  • Safety & Care Planning: Follow the custom Plan of Care, monitor for fall risks, and maintain a safe, secure home environment.
  • Companionship: Deliver meaningful social engagement, positive interaction, and emotional support.
Minimum Qualifications Summary
  • Experience & Skills: Minimum 1 year of senior care/caregiving experience (agency, facility, or private). Proficiency with transfer equipment (gait belts, sit-to-stand, Hoyer lifts) is required. Dementia or personal care experience is a plus.
  • Licensing & Transportation: Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to assist with client body weight, perform physical transfers, lift at least 25 lbs, and handle extended 12-hour shifts.
  • Soft Skills & Professionalism: Strong communication and organizational skills, open to feedback, safety-focused, punctual, and compassionate.
  • Operational Readiness: Able to follow a client's Plan of Care and remain easily reachable by phone or email for scheduling and emergencies.
  • Certifications: CNA license preferred, but not required.
  • Pet Compatibility: Must be an animal lover who is comfortable working inside homes with pets present.
