Job summary

K&A Power Group is seeking an Expeditor, Materials Specialist to join our Augusta, Maine team. You will source materials, issue purchase orders, track and expedite deliveries, and ensure timely availability of materials and equipment for projects.

The role requires five years of materials management experience, proficiency with MS Project, Excel and Word, and ideally CPIM certification. SAP experience and utility-industry exposure are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPIM certification preferred.
• Five years of experience in Materials Management.
• Experience in Utility Industry preferred.
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel and Word.
• SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing materials for projects and issuing purchase orders.
• Track, expedite, and manage materials and equipment through manufacturing and delivery to storage areas and site.
• Verify Bill of Materials.
• Identify suppliers and analyze lead times.
• Issue order acknowledgements and communicate material schedules to Project Managers.
• Ensure quality control of materials.

Education

Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)

Five years of experience in Materials Management

Experience with Utility Industry

Proficient in Microsoft Project

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Proficient in Microsoft Word

• Supports Project Manager, Construction Manager and Commission Manager sourcing materials, issuing purchase orders, tracking, expediting, managing materials and equipment manufacturing process and delivery to storage areas and project site.
• Verification of Bill of Materials
• Supplier Identification
• Commodity Lead Time Analysis
• Order Acknowledgements
• Communication to Project Managers regarding material schedules.
• Quality control

What we’re looking for:

• Certificate in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred
• Five (5) years of experience in Materials Management
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word
• SAP Experience Preferred
• Experience in Utility Industry Preferred
• Must be a Maine resident

Pay Range $70,000-$75,000/annually
