Job summary

SDM Composites in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking a dependable stockroom associate to support daily warehousing and materials handling. You will track inventory, assist with inbound/outbound shipments, and operate basic loading equipment.

The role requires 2–3 years stockroom experience, forklift familiarity, and strong English communication. You will interact with customers and internal teams, enter data, and help prioritize production needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two-three years of stockroom experience.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to interface and work effectively with customers and with employees at all levels.
• Prefer previous computer data entry experience and some knowledge of raw materials.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Interface with outside vendors to schedule/expedite outside processing jobs.
• Provide online job status for major customers.
• Respond to customer needs by checking status on jobs; help resolve complaints.
• Check status on the hot sheet on a continuing basis.
• Follow up on priority jobs.
• Locate Purchase Order changes on the floor.
• Expedite orders on the floor; locate manufacturing plans to follow up on job status.
• Update/reprioritize manufacturing plans by locating, re-stamping, and finding material for jobs.
• Oversee day-to-day activities in the warehouse; provide back-up duties.
• (issues pulls stocks, receives remnants, overruns, make stocks, cycle counts).
• Issue requisitions for material to fill min-max levels in the warehouse; create material requests.
• Additional duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

• Prefer previous computer data entry experience and some knowledge of raw materials.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Additional Requirements

• Strong math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals) to be able to calculate how many parts can be manufactured from a sheet of material, etc.
• Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to learn quickly and retain knowledge to be able to constantly revise/update priorities based on production status.
• Manual dexterity to operate forklift, pallet jack, dolly and 10 key.
• Correctable vision and hearing.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs., etc
• Ability to maneuver successfully through a 33,000 square foot, ground level, single-story manufacturing facility
