Job summary

Garlock is seeking an Expansion Joint Builder 2 to join our manufacturing team. This hands-on role focuses on crafting specialized expansion joints, following build sheets and procedures, while working with engineers and production control to meet schedules and quality standards.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in manufacturing or related hands-on fields. Welding is a plus, with a Monday–Friday, 2pm–10pm schedule and starting pay of $24.37/hour,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer experience in manufacturing, production, maintenance, or similar hands-on environments.
• Welding experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build a variety of expansion joints using hand and power tools and build sheets.
• Cut, trim, layer, cord, press, wrap, and finish materials in sequence.
• Use hoists, forms, molds, and clamshell presses to support production.
• Apply solvent, cement, reinforcing wire, soldering, and other fabrication steps as required.
• Inspect work and prepare joints for curing to meet quality expectations.
• Collaborate with Production Control, engineers, and other builders on schedules and tooling.
• Record production information, enter requests, and report near misses to the team.
• Operate a fork truck for material handling and maintain a clean, safe workspace.
