Job summary

Aspen Dental is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to support daily patient care and clinical procedures at our practice. You will assist clinicians, manage patient flow, and ensure sterilization and safety protocols are followed.

The role requires a current Dental Assistant license, radiology certification, CPR/BLS, and 2+ years of experience. The position offers full-time hours, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current Dental Assistant license or registration as required by state.
• Radiology (x-ray) certification as required by state.
• Current CPR or BLS certificate.
• 2+ years' experience as a Dental Assistant.
• Proficient at chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry.
• Demonstrate sterilization and infection control techniques.
• Maintain annual CE requirement as specified by state.
• State certification in expanded functions as required by state.

Responsibilities

• Assist with directing office team to maintain productive patient flow.
• Assist doctors during a variety of treatment procedures.
• Breakdown operatory rooms for doctors and hygienists.
• Complete sterilization processes for equipment and operatory.
• Follow maintenance schedules for waterlines, autoclave, and compressor.
• Tray and operatory set-up for all procedures.
• Support patient charting for doctors.
• Train others to execute patient handoffs and monitor patient flow.
• Follow OSHA regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays).
• Educate patients on oral hygiene strategies.
• Complete denture relines and temporary crowns.
• Monitor and aid in management of laboratory cases.
• Perform quality intraoral health scan of patients under 5 minutes.
• Understand clear aligner process and ability to teach.
• Order and maintain supplies per budget.
• Perform various office tasks.
