Coastal Kids Dental and Braces - Dorchester Rd in North Charleston, SC is seeking an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our dental team. The EDDA will assist the dentist, perform expanded functions where allowed, and help ensure patient comfort and safety.

Ideal candidates will have dental assistant certification, x-ray and nitrous oxide credentials; strong clinical skills, excellent patient service, and the ability to maintain a clean, organized practice.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Dental Assistant state certification and CPR certification required.
• Nitrous oxide and dental radiology certifications required or in-state equivalent.
• EFDA/EDDA or expanded duties certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during restorative, endodontic, and surgical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials for treatment.
• Ensure a clean, sterile environment by following infection control protocols.
• Perform expanded duties such as placing and contouring restorations, taking impressions, and applying sealants as allowed by state law.
• Take dental radiographs and conduct preliminary charting, preparing patients for treatment.
• Maintain patient records, schedule appointments, and manage dental supplies inventory.
