Job summary

The Jewish Museum of Maryland in Baltimore seeks an Exhibits Manager to guide development and execution of gallery shows, supported by the Deputy Director and Executive Director. You will coordinate cross-departmental efforts from concept to installation.

You will manage budgets, contracts, vendor relations, and evaluation tools, supervise staff, and help deliver engaging exhibitions that reflect the region's Jewish history and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; alternatively, 3+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of Jewish communal sector is a plus.
• Experience in cultural heritage is a plus.
• May require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
• Requires extensive sitting, standing, and walking.
• Must be willing to complete background checks as required by current or future contracts.
• Occasional Sunday and evening hours are required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Project manage development for gallery-based projects, including team development, schedules, meeting coordinating, budgets, and briefs.
• Manage RFP and MOU processes for contracts with curators, designers, multi-media professionals, contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Support installation and maintenance of gallery spaces and exhibit runs.
• Provide support for internal and external exhibit curators.
• Guide development, production, and installation of exhibit graphics.
• Lead asset procurement (image, film, and audio).
• Assist in loan processes with institutions and private individuals.
• Manage project budgets and provide budgetary reporting.
• Oversee survey instruments and evaluation modalities for exhibit-based projects.
• Supervise Exhibits Coordinator.
